WELCOME 2015 GUIDING YEAR!!! Welcome back ladies, I just wanted to drop a line for a couple new changes and reminders, NEW this year is a sign in and sign out sheet for parents and guardians of the girls. After a meeting with the Regional leaders it was discussed that there will now be a sign in and out sheet so we the leaders of the girls know who is dropping them off and picking them up for security purposes, and it helps if someone different is picking her up or to go with someone else, this way we know where they went. It is also a good practice to tape contact information on the lid of the girls bucket just incase, we can all have a brain laps when we need to recall a number to contact someone for any reason. ( I taped a piece of paper to Sabrinas and fully taped it for waterproofing) DUES; every girl is required to pay a due of $1.00 every Monday, this amount also goes towards any activities or trips we go on (ice cream on a walk, ect) October is the only month where we ask the girls to take in a non-perishable food item, we do this for our entry for The Festival of Trees in November and it is a huge help for The Food Bank for the busy season to follow. WINTER CANCELATIONS; we are all aware that winter has finally showed up which will lead to some messy conditions. If we need to cancel a meeting or activity we try very hard to accommodate to everyone and put messages on Facebook, 101.5 the Hawk cancelations and if possible threw the school P.A. If you know of someone who does not have access to any of these please feel free to share or contact them about a cancelation, we dont want anyone getting hurt or on any unsafe roads or worst waiting at the Fire Hall and no one is there. LEADERS; we have a couple exciting changes, we would like to welcome Shaylyn MacAulay as the new leader for the Guides as well as the Awesome Melanie Mac Neil. Brownies and Sparks still have thee Amazing Vanessa Ryan, April Martell, Meghan Hayter and Kelly Annmarie Yorke. If you have any questions comments or concerns please feel free to contact or ask anyone of these Leaders. (I am away for work for a couple months and will be assisting from afar but can still answer some questions) UNIFORMS: the girls have awesome uniforms and need to wear them every meeting and activity (unless otherwise stated) there hair needs to be pulled back in either a ponytail, pigtails or back in a headband if their hair is too short. We do a lot of crafts which include paint, glue and other sticky ingredients and dont want them to ruin good cloths or have to get a hair cut because it got suck in something. If your girl does not have a shirt one can be purchased online at thegirlguidestore.ca/ OR I have found some at consignment shops and Value Village. There are some saches readily available with Melanie for $9.00. Badges that have been earned and received should be sewn on and displayed for everyone to see (some new and extra badges have to be ordered for our number of girls is growing so quick, if your girl has not received any yet please be patient we will make sure everyone gets the badge they worked for) FOOD: due to food allergies we are asking that NO food be taken in unless otherwise confirmed with a leader, this also includes snacks. We are only there for an hour and half. Water bottles are more then welcome for it does get dry in the Fire Hall. Please make sure the girls name is on the bottle so they dont use anyone elses and if it gets left behind we know who owns it. Here is to an exciting and fun packed continuing year.
