WELCOME REMARKS ON THE OCCASION OF BRENTWOOD CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION December 13, 2014 by Cristyl Mae Muzones – BSIT 1 Called upon to undertake the duties of welcoming you all on this Magical occasion, I avail myself of the presence of that portion of my fellow-Brentins who are here assembled to express my grateful thanks for the favor with which they have been pleased to look toward me, to declare a sincere consciousness that the task is above my talents, and that I approach it with those anxious and awful presentiments which the greatness of the charge and the weakness of my powers so justly inspire. A rising Brentwood CAIS, spread over a wide and fruitful vision, traversing all the seas with the rich productions of their international education principles, engaged in partnerships with institutions in various nations who feel power and forget right, advancing rapidly to destinies beyond the reach of mortal eye -- when I contemplate these transcendent objects, and see the honor, the happiness, and the hopes of this beloved school – the Brentwood committed to the deliverance of Brilliant education and the auspices of this very occasion , the celebration of Christmas occasion, I shrink from the contemplation, and humble myself before the magnitude of the undertaking. Utterly, indeed, should I despair did not the presence of many whom I here see remind me that in the other high authorities provided by our Alma mater I shall find resources of wisdom, of virtue, and of zeal on which to rely under all difficulties. To you, then, ladies and gentlemen, who are charged with the functions of making this event the Brentwood Christmas Celebration, and to those associated with you, I look with encouragement for that guidance and support which may enable us to steer with joy and happiness the vessel in which we are all embarked amidst the challenge Bringing all success in this enchanted Brentwood Magic Ball. With so much pleasure and enthusiasm I formally welcome each in every one of you be mesmerized by the splendor of Choral Competition, The inspiration and honors of the recognition of exemplary performance and the spirit of unconditional love of Gift giving and the enchantment and grandeur of the Magic Ball.
