If the Fed’s secretive actions were exposed, yes, there would be a total collapse in confidence. There is more than innuendo that the Western central bank gold reserves are gone or impaired. We have the secret March 1999 staff report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that confirms Western central banks refuse to disclose their gold loans because it would disclose their secret interventions in the market. Well, that means that gold is no longer in Western vaults. It’s been sold into the market or it’s impaired. There is no question about this. The documents, some of which have been released publicly, and some of which have been made public accidentally, against central bank wishes, confirm that the central banks are very active in the gold market and have mobilized their gold at various points to intervene in the market surreptitiously. And they are desperate to prevent the world from finding out how that gold has been mobilized because it would cause a collapse in confidence and reveal that the gold is gone.”
