WELCOME TO BOWDEN EVERYONE - FROM RENEWAL SA Bowden welcomes the Organic & Sustainable Market, South Australia’s first certified organic market, to the State Government’s flagship Bowden development. The market will be held every Saturday from 9am to 1pm, beginning 18th October 2014, at “Plant One” with entry located on Fifth Street, just off Park Terrace, Bowden. We have recently celebrated a key milestone at Bowden, with our first residents now calling Bowden home and it is exciting to be able to introduce even more life and activity to the area. The market will provide nearby residents, in addition to people from the city and western suburbs with the opportunity to shop locally and organically. The market is perfect complement to our ambition to host exciting uses in the near term that activate old structures meanwhile contributing to the area’s diversity and character. It joins other eclectic, popular and widely celebrated uses such as the Fontanelle Studio and Gallery, Cirkidz, Adelaide Bike Kitchen and the Australian Company of Performing Arts which all temporarily utilise former industrial space until such time as the site is needed for redevelopment. Bowden is developing into a vibrant and sustainable community on the city fringe, which fits well with the market’s ethos. It’s easily accessed from both the city and beach, with a myriad of public transport options including the tram and train. The Organic and Sustainable Market has developed a significant following with many regulars having vowed to make the trip to Bowden on a Saturday morning. New residents of the Bowden development will automatically receive free membership of the Organic and Sustainable Market, entitling them to a 10 per cent discount off all stalls and entry into a competition for a monthly members’ prize. The market will be located for the next 12 months in a former industrial warehouse off Fifth Street across from the popular Jarmer’s Kitchen eatery and Bowden Information & Sales Centre. About Bowden • The $1 billion Bowden development will see the construction of more than 2,400 homes for approximately 3,500 new residents over the next 10–12 years. • Bowden features exciting retail and commercial spaces, an innovative public realm with shared streets and great parks in addition to existing tram, train and bike and cycle links to the city. Further information available at lifemoreinteresting.au/ We look forward to welcoming the Market and its many stallholders and customers to Bowden and wish you every success throughout your time here.
