WEST VIRGINIA STATE POLICE PRESS RELEASE Office of Public Affairs Lieutenant Michael Baylous Telephone: 304-746-2198 The members of the West Virginia State Police were involved in the following incidents recently: Summersville, West Virginia – On Monday, May 27, 2014, Sergeant D. A. Evans, of the Rainelle Detachment, arrested Ms. Carla Hennessey (42 years of age, from Craigsville, West Virginia) for one (1) count of fraudulent schemes. It is alleged that Ms. Hennessey, the Nicholas County 911 Director, used a Nicholas County credit card for personal gain totaling $1,735.00. Ms. Hennessey was arraigned in Nicholas County Magistrate Court and released on a $5,000.00 bond. Any questions or requests for interviews should be directed to Sergeant D. A. Evans at 304-438-3000. Hamlin, West Virginia – On Sunday, May 25, 2014, Trooper C. F. Wingo and Trooper R. J. Jones, of the Hamlin Detachment, responded to a shots fired call at Gore’s Trailer Park, in the West Hamlin area of Lincoln County. The Troopers learned that Mr. Dale C. Vance, Jr. (62 years of age) had been in bed, in his residence, when he was shot during a drive by shooting incident. Mr. Vance was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injury. On Sunday, May 26, 2014, the Troopers developed probable cause to arrest Mr. Robert E. Lambert (53 years of age, from Branchland, West Virginia) for malicious wounding and five (5) counts of wanton endangerment. Mr. Lambert was arraigned in Lincoln County Magistrate Court and lodged in the Western Regional Jail. Any questions or requests for interviews should be directed to either Trooper C. F. Wingo or Trooper R, J, Jones at 304-824-3101. Marlinton, West Virginia – On Thursday, May 22, 2014, Trooper R. A. Waid, of the Marlinton Detachment, responded to a 911 complaint of shots fired and a vehicle fire near Airport Road, in Marlinton, West Virginia. Upon arrival with the Pocahontas Sheriff’s Department, the Marlinton Volunteer Fire Department and the United States Forestry Service, Trooper Waid learned that two brothers, Mr. Jeremy Fitzgerald (29 years of age, from Dunmore, West Virginia) and Mr. Joshua Fitzgerald (31 years of age, from Marlinton, West Virginia), had been in an altercation Mr. Joshua Fitzgerald’s neighbor, Mr. Gregory Rich. After Mr. Rich complained to the Fitzgerald’s about a bonfire, one of his vehicles was set on fire. Another one of Mr. Rich’s vehicles was shot six times with a handgun by Mr. Jeremy Fitzgerald. Mr. Joshua Fitzgerald was arrested for brandishing a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and illegal burning. Mr. Jeremy Fitzgerald was arrested for arson in the third degree, wanton endangerment, illegal burning, obstructing an officer, obstructing a firefighter, brandishing a firearm, conspiracy to commit a felony, and shooting a firearm within 500 ft. of a dwelling.
