WE’RE GIVING OUR CENTRES A WORK OUT! You may have seen in the local press that leisure facilities across the county could be set for a £9million upgrade after Herefordshire Council cabinet approved funding plans. We have seen at Hereford Leisure Pool the massive impact upgrading the facilities makes to encouraging more people to be more active more often. Customers regularly tell us about our great customer service but in some cases it is being delivered in centres that can be described as ‘tired’. Subject to final approval in February, £9m will be spent on the following Halo centres in the county. We’ll keep you up to date with key developments, artists impressions and progress reports etc but for now read on for an essence of what’s coming your way ………. ROSS SWIMMING POOL AND LEDBURY SWIMMING POOL A new extension to house a new larger gym New dedicated group exercise studio - supporting an exciting group exercise class programme New changing facilities Refurbishment of pool hall Spa facilities - treatment room and sauna (Ledbury) Spa facilities - steam room and sauna (Ross) New reception area HEREFORD LEISURE CENTRE New larger gym growing from 85 to 100 pieces of equipment Large group exercise studio - supporting an exciting group exercise class programme Permanent Regional Gymnastics Centre Refurbished squash courts Toning Suite with power assisted exercise equipment JumpINGym - new children’s indoor soft play area Facelift to cafe, reception, changing rooms LEOMINSTER LEISURE CENTRE New larger gym growing from 51 to 65 pieces of equipment Bespoke group exercise studio - supporting an exciting group exercise class programme Refurbished changing facilities Spa area with thermal pool, sauna, ice room, treatment room JumpINGgym - new indoor children’s soft play area HEREFORD LEISURE POOL Installing moveable floor into diving pool making it more flexible to support swim lessons, aqua classes etc External patio seating area for the cafe The funding will be paid for by a borrowing programme repaid through rent by Halo that will mean that council taxpayers will not have to stump up any cash.
