WHAT CHARACTERISES THE KINGDOM OF GOD? Rom 14:17 KJV For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. When we take a look at the Roman kingdom, war is peculiar about it. The Ashanti kingdom is noted for its treasures of gold. What about the Kingdom of Heaven? Is it about the ceremonial things and self seeking acts? No. It has nothing to do with satisfying the flesh or the eyes. The Kingdom of Heaven is supposed to reveal the righteousness of Christ Jesus in us. This implies living just as He would. Again it is characterised by the peace through the blood of Jesus which is in us. This is a distinctive character the world desires but do not have and so we must demonstrate it. In the Kingdom of Satan there is the absence of peace. And yet again, it is Joy in the Holy Ghost - free from anxiety and hopelessness. NB: Nothing carnal can enter the Kingdom of God. “But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
