WHAT DOES VOTING ACHIEVE? You MUST be on the rolls, and you MUST - TopicsExpress

WHAT DOES VOTING ACHIEVE? You MUST be on the rolls, and you MUST attend a polling booth, but do not have to mark the ballot paper in a valid manner, if you do decide you will vote, you MUST mark a preference for every candidate, even those you do not know or oppose. The candidates can promise you anything they like, yet do not have to keep any of those promises, the same applies to the leaders, in fact a week after one has supposedly been elected by the majority, they can retire and chose a replacement, or maybe even unelected party members will choose for them, you may elect a Labor candidate who can the day after being elected become a Liberal of visa versa. Every election tens of thousands of votes go missing, electoral rolls are found wanting, dead people vote, and multiple voting runs rife, ballot papers go missing, sometimes being found miles away, postal voting has been proven to be rigged, voting polls are rigged to influence you and minor candidates blocked from marketing and are at times intimidated. The counting of votes, the media and the entire system favour’s the 2 major parties, so the old adage voting for the lessor of two evils, still leaves your vote ending up in the lap of evil. So let’s say you are lucky, you vote for a local major party candidate, you know them and they are elected and stay the course, what you have is a person who has to do the will of their party, so who decides what direction the party takes, that is another story. If voting could change anything, they simply wouldn’t let us. Mark
