WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE DONE. DEBRIEFING WS XVII. FEEL FREE TO DISAGREE.. OPINIONS PLEASE... Now that the World Shoot XVII has been completed and the results are tallied, there are a few things that I would like to see happen. Since there were designated team managers/coaches that traveled with the Philippine contingent to the US, I would like to have a complete analysis and critique of the performance of the Philippine team, from the stand point of individuals, divisions, equipment, training atbp so that we can learn from the experience and try to better ourselves as IPSC shooters. Very similar to a debriefing for a business operation of after an excursion. It should be an honest and candid feedback There should be openness to diverse perspectives and not judgmental It is not an exercising in finger pointing but a way to improve our performance in future international events. Some suggested to topics to be addressed • List or describe what you thought was successful or worked well in the area (Division) you were involved in: • List what you thought were NOT successful or did not work well in the area (Division) you were involved in: • List your actions/recommendations for improvement for future events for the area(Division) you were involved in: • List what you thought was successful or observed working well in the whole event: • List or describe what you thought were NOT successful or did not work well in the whole event: • Any further comments or suggestions for improvement for future events and competitors. Additional items for discussion: • What worked especially well for us? • What aspects did not work? What assumptions can we make? What areas needed more support? • What were the biggest risks we took? Did we take enough risks? How could we better prepare for the surprise factor? • Was our physical training adequate for the tournament? How can we improve?? • IF MONEY, TIME, AND RESOURCES WERE NOT A FACTOR, WHAT WOULD WE DO DIFFERENTLY?? This could prove invaluable for future competitions and for competitors learning from the experiences of their fellow PPSA shooters. It can be reviewed and compiled by coaches and trainers and the information disseminated to all gun clubs.. We can start making adjustments early. FELL FREE TO DISAGREE
