WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ACCEPTING JESUS AS OUR SAVIOUR AND ACCEPTING HIM AS OUR LORD? When we accept Him as Saviour, He saves us from the guilt and penalty of sin and gives us the new birth. He changes us from sinner to saint. This transaction is a glorious miracle and is essential to salvation. No one can be saved without it. However, Jesus is not finished with us at this point. We have been born, but His plan is that we also grow up to become like Him (Eph.4:13). When we accept Him daily as the Ruler, or Lord, of our lives, He, by His miracles, causes us to grow in grace and Christian conduct until we are mature in Christ (2Pet.3:18).
