WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? Congress and the President send Billions of American dollars and other aid to countries around the world. Congress and the President get huge salaries that Congress sets for themselves. THEN... Congress takes from the poor people. Congress cut the COL or cost of living for the poor, elderly and disabled a few years ago but they kept getting their rases. Now congress is looking at cutting food stamps. The more Americans who starve or cannot get their medications and die are less they need to lie to next election. Who the heck votes for these people? It seems they think its all the foreigners they send money to - our money to. It appears to be time to vote these people out of office, refuse to listen to all their promises, and elect people who will do the right thing for the people. Suggestions; Cut the Presidents salary back 50% since that was the amunt they raised it. Cut Congressional salaries 50%. Cut Congressional retirement funds 60% since they take their whole salary as their retirement. Force Congress to pay back the funds that were taken by Congress during the Carter years from Social Security and remind them of the promise that if Social Security ever went broke they would return the funds. This they seem to have forgotten when they closed the Social Security accounts and put the money in the general fund. Require increases to the poor, elderly and disabled as well as an increase in Minimum wage every time Congress wants a raise. Increase food stamps 38% to all who receive them. Also pass a law that everytime someone gets a small increase in their pension it does not affect their food stamps. Only vote for those who work for the people. And object to the militarys plan to leave millions of dollars in equipment overseas when they return. If they abandon equipment we should not be required to pay for new. The government needs to take care of government property since it really is the property of the Citizens of the United States.
