WHAT NO ONE IS SAYING ABOUT TONIGHTS QUESTIONABLE CALL: Tonights - TopicsExpress

WHAT NO ONE IS SAYING ABOUT TONIGHTS QUESTIONABLE CALL: Tonights game provided quite the transitional moment that contunues to be debated and questioned by NFL insiders, and fans alike. The PI call that was, then wasnt, has everyone talking. Im not a fan of either the Lions or Cowboys. However, it seems that Im one of the only neutral (or non-Cowboy fan) parties willing to admit they probably got the call correct in making it a No call! The Detroit TE on that play literally ran with a stiff arm to the LBs chest and facemask for approximately the last 10 yards of the route. The LB tugged him back once by the Jersey, then continued to handfight through the contact at the end of the play and never looked back, causing all of the angst regarding whether or not there was Pass Interference. Well, guess what? There was Pass Interference on the play, but it was originated on the extended arm contact by the TE, not the continuation of such from the LB. Therefore, the flag was picked up because when the Refs came together and discussed what each saw, more than likely, at least one of them saw the PI worthy contact initiated by the TE. The right thing to do then is to decide was an advantage gained by the foul. Obviously, in the end result, the person most responsible for the illegal contact (the TE for Detroit) was neutralized. Hence, the No call! I really dont understand why Mike Perera is not discussing this as he keeps proclaiming that the Officials got it wrong. Well, I believe that they did! But, Im not one to co-sign on one play being the only reason a team loses either. There were many other opportunities for Detroit to win that game!
