WHEN DEMONS CHANT HARE HARE You just know you are doing something right. Nes pas.!!! SATURDAY NIGHT HARINAM (11-10-2014) This week the Harinam was literally Out of this World. The Party was joined by Jaya Krsna prabhu and his nice son Eka Chakra Patel. They brought with them the same dynamic energy that they put into their Krsna Conscious theatre performances. Many other younger devotees were also present and the mood was so lifted due to their inspired enthusiasm that many scores of on lookers were pulled into the purifying fire of Lord Chaitanyas Samkirtan. In the short 3 minute video below you will see how the head waiter of the Aberdeen Angus Steak House on Coventry Street, left his customers waiting for a full 5 minutes while he danced out onto the street to join the blissful chanting party. Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 8 Chapter 23 Verse 16 There may be discrepancies in pronouncing the mantras and observing the regulative principles, and, moreover, there may be discrepancies in regard to time, place, person and paraphernalia. But when Your Lordships holy name is chanted, everything becomes faultless. Purport In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is chanting the holy name of the Lord. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way. (Bṛhan-nāradīya Purāṇa 38.126) In this age of Kali, it is extremely difficult to perform Vedic ritualistic ceremonies or sacrifices perfectly. Hardly anyone can chant the Vedic mantras with perfect pronunciation or accumulate the paraphernalia for Vedic performances. Therefore the sacrifice recommended in this age is sańkīrtana, constant chanting of the holy name of the Lord. Yajñaiḥsańkīrtana-prāyair yajanti hisumedhasaḥ (Bhāg. 11.5.29). Instead of wasting time performing Vedic sacrifices, those who are intelligent, those who possess good brain substance, should take to the chanting of the Lords holy name and thus perform sacrifice perfectly. I have seen that many religious leaders are addicted to performing yajñas and spending hundreds and thousands of rupees for imperfect sacrificial performances. This is a lesson for those who unnecessarily execute such imperfect sacrifices. We should take the advice of Śrī CaitanyaMahāprabhu (yajñaiḥ sańkīrtana-prāyair yajanti hi sumedhasaḥ). Although Śukrācārya was a strict brāhmaṇa addicted to ritualistic activities, he also admitted, niśchidram anusańkīrtanaḿ tava: My Lord, constant chanting of the holy name of Your Lordship makes everything perfect. In Kali-yuga the Vedic ritualistic ceremonies cannot be performed as perfectly as before. Therefore Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī has recommended that although one should take care to follow all the principles in every kind of spiritual activity, especially in worship of the Deity, there is still a chance of discrepancies, and one should compensate for this by chanting the holy name of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement we therefore give special stress to the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇamantra in all activities. To do this in public for the benefit of the millions of conditioned souls is undoubtedly the highest welfare work for all. Please come out and experience the bliss from performing this joyous sacrifice. You will never regret it, and if you become fortunate enough to gain even some little attachment for this service, there is a real possibility that at the end of THIS VERY LIFETIME you will be invited to go back home, Back to Godhead. nehābhikrama-nāśo sti pratyavāyo na vidyate sv-alpam apy asya dharmasya trāyate mahato bhayāt Bhagavad-gita As It Is (2.40) TRANSLATION In this endeavour there is no loss or diminution, and a little advancement on this path can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear. PURPORT Activity in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, or acting for the benefit of Kṛṣṇa without expectation of sense gratification, is the highest transcendental quality of work. Even a small beginning of such activity finds no impediment, nor can that small beginning be lost at any stage. Any work begun on the material plane has to be completed, otherwise the whole attempt becomes a failure. But any work begun in Kṛṣṇa consciousness has a permanent effect, even though not finished. The performer of such work is therefore not at a loss even if his work in Kṛṣṇa consciousness is incomplete. One percent done in Kṛṣṇa consciousness bears permanent results, so that the next beginning is from the point of two percent, whereas in material activity without a hundred percent success there is no profit. Ajāmila performed his duty in some percentage of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, but the result he enjoyed at the end was a hundred percent, by the grace of the Lord. There is a nice verse in this connection in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (1.5.17): tyaktvā sva-dharmaḿ caraṇāmbujaḿ harer bhajann apakvo tha patet tato yadi yatra kva vābhadram abhūd amuṣya kiḿ ko vārtha āpto bhajatāḿ sva-dharmataḥ If someone gives up his occupational duties and works in Kṛṣṇa consciousness and then falls down on account of not completing his work, what loss is there on his part? And what can one gain if one performs his material activities perfectly? Or, as the Christians say, What profiteth a man if he gain the whole world yet suffers the loss of his eternal soul? Material activities and their results end with the body. But work in Kṛṣṇa consciousness carries a person again to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, even after the loss of the body. At least one is sure to have a chance in the next life of being born again as a human being, either in the family of a great cultured brāhmaṇa or in a rich aristocratic family that will give one a further chance for elevation. That is the unique quality of work done in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALL THE SINCERE VAISNAVAS THAT PERFORM THIS YAGNA WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. A special mention to The Bhaktivedanta Manor Saturday Afternoon Harinam Party that has been going out every weekend practically without fail for more years than I can recall. Ananta, Sukadeva, Gauravani, Atmesvara prabhus and the rest of the group are all blessed by Srila Prabhupada. This weekend in London we FREELY distributed 1,500 copies of the delightful 16 page full colour booklet On Chanting Hare Krsna We could easily distribute twice as many if we had the extra helping hands His Grace Palaka prabhu from Washington DC has just printed ONE MILLION COPIES of this wonderful introduction to Krsna Consciousness, out of funds from his own business. One hundred and fifty THOUSAND of them are now on a ship heading for the London Harinam parties. All of them have the addresses of Soho Street Temple and Bhaktivedanta Manor printed on the inside front page, along with a warm invitation to visit. There are undoubtedly many ways to assist Srila Prabhupada in spreading this Krsna Consciousness Movement. Three of the most important ones are: 1. Samkirtan - as in congregational chanting parties out on the streets of Every Town and Village. 2. Samkirtan - as in distributing Transcendental literatures far and wide. 3. Samkirtan - as in distributing delicious foodstuffs that have been offered to Srila Prabhupada and Lord Chaitanya to everyone you meet.......... We ARE Lord Chaitanyas Samkirtan Movement. A Movement cannot be stationary by definition, we must be dynamic to have effect !!! Your servant Bhajahari Das Adhikary PS - prabhus, if you managed to read all this - kindly click share That is also Samkirtan https://m.youtube/watch?v=F74SI_fpP6g
