WHEN DID GANJA GROWING BECOME ACADEMIC? KMT CHARLES R Nesson, the William F Weld Professor at Harvard Law School and founder of the Berkman Centre for Internet and Society and a medical marijuana advocate, will be among several speakers at the historic launch of the Ganja Future Growers and Producers Association at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston on Saturday. According to reports, Nesson is a strong believer in Jamaica. So how will this association work? The primarily brown and white people will be clinking crystal glasses and hob-nobbing with erudites and academics? Then, later on, will employ the Rastah bethren and other black citizens to use their expertise to plant the herb for minimum wages? Wonder if any brethen from humble origins has been invited to this launch? Oh, maybe to stand in front of the camera with his locks neatly tied with silk ribbons and try to convince the country that we really like Rastahs and will be fair with the proceeds of this industry.
