WHEN GOD SEEMS TO BE SILENT “These things has thou done and I - TopicsExpress

WHEN GOD SEEMS TO BE SILENT “These things has thou done and I kept silence;…I will reprove thee,…” (Ps. 50:21). Just because God is silent does not mean He is condoning sin and is indifferent to it. Instead, He is withholding deserved punishment, giving time for people to repent (2Pet. 3:9). God may seem silent to the righteous as they face persecution daily and long to be delivered. But He is actually waiting patiently so that more sinners will repent and turn to Him. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but wants them to turn from evil (Ezek. 33:11). His silence does not last forever – a time of punishment will surely come. God knows all our sins, even the secret sins. We don’t need to cover them. All terrible information about us are before Him. His silence is love to us because He wants to forgive us if we open up to Him. In His silence, we present our arrogant attitudes which are detestable before Him. Many say “It’s vain to serve God; what good does He do for us?” Our focus is selfish! We must serve God because He is God and deserves to be served. God will remember those who remain faithful to Him in His silent state and who love, fear, honour and respect Him (Mal. 3:13-18). Prayer: Dear God, let me not present my arrogant attitudes which are detestable before you in your silent state. Let me remain faithful to you always in love, honour and with reverential fear in Jesus name.
