WHEN PEOPLE BEHAVE BADLY. Face it: sometimes people can be difficult to deal with . . . . very, very difficult. When other people are unkind to you, you may be tempted to strike back, either verbally or in some other way. Resist that temptation. Instead remember that God corrects other peoples behaviors in His own way and timing. And He doesnt need your help (even if youre totally convinced that He does). So when other people behave cruelly, foolishly or impulsively - - as they will from time to time, dont respond in kind. Instead, speak for yourself as politely as you can, and walk away. Then forgive everybody as quickly as you can too and leave the rest up to God. Here are a few questions that needs to be considered also: How often have I been offended when others have found good in those who have harmed me? How often have I brooded over and judged the flaws of those who hurt me? Or how much do I dwell on the bad I see in someone rather than the good that God and others can see? Do we focus only on the traits that make our enemies so unlikeable? Accentuating the positive qualities of those who trouble us is a good way to deal with resentment and to transform our dislike into accepting them. Lets be nice even if others dont !. **** **** **** Word of the day: We come to God not because we have it all together, but because we have needs, not because we have earned His favor, but because He has extended mercy to us . . . . not because He helps those who help themselves, but because He ministers the grace we need to make it through our thoughest days ! food for thought: How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life, you will have been all of these ! **** There is a way of listening that surpasses all compliments. The most called-upon prerequisite of a friend is an accessible ear !
