WHEN SANITY IS BRUISED One virtue we all need One virtue nobody can take away from us One virtue that follows us through life It is the sanity of our mind. With sanity comes joy With sanity comes love With sanity comes smile With sanity comes celebration With sanity comes peace of mind Sanity is measure of our humanness. Envy bruises our sanity Hatred bruises our sanity Failure bruises our sanity Frustration bruises our sanity Stagnation bruises our sanity Disappointment bruises our sanity. One terrible factor on our sanity This is a factor of other factors It is about our too much expectation When we expect too much from others When their performances fall short Then are we bruised beyond measure. When sanity is bruised: Rationality will go away Hypertension finds a victim All forms of smile and joy vacate Frown becomes the dressing gown One becomes readily cantankerous One becomes too suspicious of everything One indirectly embraces satan the devil. What is a man without sanity? What is a woman without sanity? Such is like one naked at the market place Everybody else sees you and you see no one Everybody knows something is amiss But the victim is too insane to know! © Engr. Enyinda Nath Okey
