WHERE IS THE SOKOTO STATE CONSTITUENCY PROJECT DEVELOPMENT FUND? PART 1 You may recall that senator. Andy Uba was one of the Legislators Paffcomm critically criticised, After our articles on Andy Uba about his poor performance in his constituency, the senator woke up to perform what his people elected him to do in his district. Today senator. Andy Uba is among the federal Legislators bringing development to his districts. Among what he did in his district are the provision of solar street light (solar) at Ekwulobia round about to Nkpologwu –Nkwo-Uga- Akokwa junction in Aguata council. Nanka- Oko- Ndikelionwu- Omogho-Ufuma-Ajali communities in Orumba North local government area which he attracted from the energy commission of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. Other developments he brought are the Federal Ministry of Education total Rehabilitation of classroom blocks and construction of new classroom blocks at Nwagwazi Primary School, Uga in Aguata Council area; Energy Street lights project at Nnobi road total filling station –Nnewi High School – Nkwo Triangle traffic light junction – CPS-Okongwu Memorial Secondary School in Nnewi North council area in the district. Uba had attracted projects like schools renovation at Ogbunka, Technical College, Umunze, construction of classroom blocks with VIP toilets and fencing of Community High School at Nawfia, solar street light in Isulo, Ezira and Umunze all in Orumba South Council area, as well as similar projects at Ozubulu, Ihembosi in Ekwusigo Council area, all costing between N5 million and N10 million each. He also awarded scholarship to over 200 indigent students from secondary to the tertiary level. The senator has also distributed electric transformers and vehicles. Communities like Mgbachi-Uli, Okija Ubahaekwem- Ihiala, Ufuma, Okija and Isieke in Ihiala council area and Orumba North council area in the district respectively benefited from either schools rehabilitation or provision of bore-holes for a clean drinking water. There was no community in the senatorial district, according to his presentation that didnt benefit from one constituency project or the other, even as the senator who promised to hold periodical town hall meetings with his constituents. He said the attraction and diligent execution of projects will continue to be observed until the end of his tenure. Even though the projects he executed is not commensurate with the amount he received as constituency development project fund on behalf of his district yet, he is better that what is obtained, from the northern Federal Lawmakers. However, it is left for his district to decide if he did well or not and to re-elect him or to vote him out. Paffcomm will continue to monitor his projects in his district. Below are the Sokoto Federal Lawmakers. SEN. AHMAD MUHAMMAD MACCIDO: senator, National Assembly (2007-2015) Representave of Sokoto North (Senatorial District) He receives 60 million Naira constituency development project fund quarterly. Amount already received by the Honorable on behalf of his constituency from 2007 - 2015 is 1. 740 billion Naira for 31 quarters out of 32 quarters that makes 8 years. At the end of his tenure in 2015 he would have received 1.8 billion Naira on behalf of his constituency. The honorable senator has no project in his constituency to account for the constituency development fund he received on behalf of his people for the development of the Sokoto North (Senatorial District). However, Sokoto people had never in any day ask their honorable senator where kept their constituency development fund. SEN. IBRAHIM ABDULLAHI GOBIR: senator, 7th National Assembly (2011-2015). Representative of Sokoto East (Senatorial District). He receives 60 million Naira constituency development project fund quarterly. Amount already received by the Honorable on behalf of his constituency is 840 million Naira for 15 quarters out of 16 quarters in a four year. At the end of his tenure in 2015, he would have received 900 million Naira on behalf of his district. SEN. IBRAHIM ABDULLAHI GOBIR has nothing to show for the constituency fund he received for the development of his constituency and nobody asked. Everybody is more concerned with the presidency, how to bring back the presidency to the north. SEN. UMAR DAHIRU: senator, National Assembly (2003-2015) Representave of Sokoto South (Senatorial District) He receives 60 million Naira constituency development project fund quarterly. Amount already received by the Honorable on behalf of his constituency from 2003 - 2015 is 2.640 billion Naira for 47 quarters out of 48 in 12 years as a senator. At the end of his tenure in 2015 he would have received 2.7 billion Naira on behalf of his constituency.Unfortunately Sen. Umar has no single project to show for 2.640 billion naira constituency development project fund he has already received for the development of his district. Can this happen in southern Nigeria? I dont think so. He would have been long been voted out. I do not want to discuss the political rhetorics that made them relevant in the north and will still make their people to vote for the again in 2015. HON. TAMBUWAL WAZIRI AMINU: senator, National Assembly (2007-2015) Representave of Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency. He receives 40 million Naira constituency development project fund quarterly. Amount already received by the Honorable on behalf of his constituency from 2007 - 2015 is 1.240 billion Naira. At the end of his tenure in 2015 he would have received 1.280 billion Naira constituency development project fund on behalf of his constituency yet he has nothing to show for it in his Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency even though he is the speaker of the House of representative and always claiming to fight corruption especially when it involves the presidency. It is important to note that after our publication of (WHERE IS BORNO STATE CONSTITUENCY PROJECT DEVELOPMENT FUND? Part 1) on June 29 2014. Many federal Lawmakers in the north are running Helter Skelter try to do something in the districts or constituency to avoid Paffcomm criticism. Good enough they are afraid of Paffcomm criticism, but we are coming to them. Many Lawmakers are boasting to have sponsored many bills, bills that in no way affect the lives of their constituencies or districts. Be it known to them that the people dont care how many bills you sponsored, what they want is their constituency development project fund because that is what really affect their lives directly. You can sponsor as many bills as you want, bills that are in no way affect the lives of your constituency, many a times the bills never see the light of the day. Being a good Lawmaker is not only sponsoring bills, but following up the bill to make sure it is passed into law. However, what the people want most is their constituency fund. Please give the funds back to the people it was meant for. The fund is not for car gifts to friends or your party loyals, it is not meant for rice distribution to the people as if they are slaves. Instead of car gift, give farming tractors and farming equipment to the people. Instead of rice distribution give grain and seeds to the farmers. Build infrastructures. The fund is not meant for your pocket or your families. https://facebook/groups/paff.789/ Paffcomm paffcomm TO BE CONTINUED
