Through this lens, which is conspicuously White, those matching gray shirts might either be a tone-deaf display of team spirit, or a more troubling reification of how you regard your relationship to the minority student body... on behalf of your Black and minority student population, which happens to comprise more than 59 percent of your schools racial demographic, you must be made aware of the fact that this is an egregious offense... your Black and Latino students... will look through the lens of his or her blackness and see a white woman or man who is more interested in furthering a personal, White agenda than protecting them - a little brown boy or girl. TOP COMMENT: White Men are, on the whole, the most privileged people in America when it comes to economic opportunity. White Women are, on the whole, the most privileged people in America when it comes to Law Enforcement and the Criminal Justice System. These are people who *slap cops* and get misdemeanors for it. And keep all their teeth. They are seven times less like than a white man, ten times less likely than a black woman, and thirty two times (32 times, you read that right) less likely than a black man to have cops use force on them when (rare case) theyre arrested. Privilege is always situational, and white women are by no measure more privileged on the whole than white men. But when it comes to police violence and incarceration, theyre the most privileged people in the country. - Jester1137 I think Jester1137 might be referring to the 1989 Zsa Zsa Gabor incident, unless theres been a more famous incident of white women slapping cops: After the two exchanged unpleasantries and had a little road chase, [Beverly Hills Officer Paul] Kramer told Zsa Zsa to get out of her $110,000 coupé. When she did, she slapped him across the face, knocking his regulation sunglasses to the ground.
