WHO DEFINES YOUR ISLAM: ALLAH OR YOUR FRIENDS Let me first acknowledge that there are many good and objective Christians everywhere, and I have quite a number of them as friends. Even when they insist that Jesus (peace be upon him) was crucified and I say he never was, each man sticks to his gun … no malice, no abuses, and friendship continues. ------ But some Christians are just bent on having everyone come to their faith with their unrelenting crusades of blackmail and propaganda. For these Christians, YOU EITHER ACT AND SPEAK LIKE A CHRISTIAN OR YOU’RE A TERRORIST. For these Christians who are bent on redefining Islam, keeping the beards, not shaking the opposite gender, not dragging the trousers and speaking up for Islam and Muslims make you a fanatic, an extremist, a fundamentalists – they have many names. Obviously, these Christians have unashamedly abandoned Christianity and have made opposition to Islam their religion. For them, a Muslim should conduct a ‘white’wedding, attend, churches, drink wine, take interests on money and marry at 35 or he is uncivilized. Some months ago when Nasir El-Rufai was accused of blasphemy because of a joke he retweeted, Pastor Tunde Bakare rose in his defence, saying El-Rufai cannot be called a terrorist because “HE ATTENDS MY CHURCH.” I permit you, you can read that again. That is the same philosophy behind all those screaming that El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, Hannatu Musawa, Maryam Uwais and their cohorts – who are all too willing to sell their Islam so that they don’t get names – are against early marriage, and that means Islam and ‘civilized’ Muslims are against it. My concerns are the unsuspecting Muslims being hoodwinked to part with their faith because ‘they want to belong’ and they don’t want to get names. For these Muslims, they can sag their trousers, remove their hijabs, use female necklaces, etc, simply because that’s what’s in vogue and that’s what their Christian friends appreciate. I have over 1,000 followers on Twitter and some of them have unfollowed me because I support early marriage. I’m more than glad to see them go. Who wants dumb followers in the first place? What’s my business with followership or friendship if it is to take away my faith … my salvation … the purpose of my creation? Allah says early marriage is lawful and encouraged. You insist it isn’t. “SHOULD NOT HE WHO HAS CREATED KNOW?...” [Qur’an 67: 14] To you Muslims all too willing to do the un-Islamic biddings of your Christian friends, I hope they will save you from the punishment of Allah when it comes.
