WHO IS POISONING THE WATER IN THAT COUNTRY? Go ahead and produce more graduates to put on the unemployment roll instead of using the money to help them create jobs. I have never seen so much nonsense in my life but hey, in a few hours, I will likely see more insanity!!! IDIOTS, even University of Toronto (UofT) and University of British Columbia (UBC) do not have a lecture room for 6000 students? Are raising sheep by any chance? Hey, come to think about it, the TAs will make good money since the Profs will never show up anyway. WAIT, how much do they pay the Teaching Assistants (TA) in Uganda? YES I am mocking your education. ------------------------------ By Innocent Anguyo Kyambogo Universitys administration has earmarked sh2.55b to launch the construction of a central teaching facility with a seat capacity of 6,000 persons at once. The facility will have lecture theatres, computer laboratories and offices. It will cost sh16.5b upon completion. Speaking on the second day of the 11th graduation ceremony on Thursday, Kyambogos acting Vice Chancellor Prof Eli Katunguka also said the university will soon start erecting a new library, laboratories and lecture theatres with the sh72b being received from government. Kyambogos school of management is finalizing setting up a state of the art computer laboratory with 135 work stations. The computer laboratory for graduate students is also going to be equipped with state of the art facilities, said Katunguka. In light of addressing the operational glitches at Kyambogo, the university council chairman Prof John Okedi said they had approved policies for quality assurance, information communication telecommunications, research and innovation, records and information management and human resource. Kyambogo Chancellor Prof John Ssebuwufu said to elevate the university to continental premiership, staff and students should develop a culture of giving rather than always demanding. On Thursday, Kyambogo graduated a total of 2,241 students from the faculties of Vocational Studies and Arts and Social Sciences. At the end of the three day graduation ceremony on Thursday, Kyambogo would have presented Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelors and Masters Degrees to 7, 246 students (211 First Class Degrees).
