Feedback My reason to write about feedback is because someone who I value most gave me one important feedback, an authentic one, which I should really consider and work on it. Here you go. Our personality or the stages of development determines how we see feedback. The way we respond to the person who is open enough to give us feedback is different. Some accepts happily, others may dont even listen it, few may be triggered and deny that they dont deserve to be told and the rest may here you and assess the feedback and only work on what seems important. There may be other types I dont mention. I have a question for you: How is your response towards feedback? keep the answer for you. As of me feedback is the most important life tool that people tend to ignore most of the time. In most cases the doer failed to notice what is going on in his/her life, in the other hand those around us has great chance on seeing it in different perspective. So if you are open enough to welcome feedback, it means you are shaping your life in to a good track. When I say this I dont mean all feedback you receive from people is as important as we need feedback. In other words there might be feedback which doesnt even represent you. When such a case arises, I recommend you let it pass or give it sometime to assess it and decide whether you should work on it or leave it away. I believe we are lucky if we have someone around us who truly challenges us, give us constructive feedback and push us to our limits. The feedback I got today is one example of that. It was something I should really consider and work on it. May be if I am able to change it, many things will change as well. The surprising thing about feedback is that it is free. What it cost is only your readiness to accept what ever it is about and not make it personal. A metaphor to make the concept even clearer, think about a newly written book. Given the time if the book is reviewed by many reviewer, will have a great chance of becoming a great book. As of that our life need people who give honest, authentic, constructive and positive feedback. Let me take one sentence from the book Long Walk to Freedom on page 3 paragraph 4 which can be read as, If you are good and kind, you will be rewarded in ways that you can never know. And one of the reward is people who can give you feedback but to accept or listen it you need to be good and kind. Enjoy accepting feedback, and make your future bright and your present life stronger. Thanks. Hedego Negash
