WHO THEN IS THE BEAST? The beast is hence the Papal System of the Roman Catholic Church. Having the characteristics, read the historical books and see how each of the traits was fulfilled in the history of the church. This is the only power that fulfills to the letter every identifying characteristic that the prophetic oracles have given about the beast. This is a biblical perspective just to provoke you to study on this issue of life or death in the final hours on earth. The beast claims to be God on earth. It is not a secret that the pope fulfills that trait. Read his own literature, and you will read that “The Pope is as it were God on earth, sole sovereign of the faithful of Christ, chief king of kings….The Pope is of so great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret even divine laws. (Translated from Lucius Ferraris, Prompta Bibliotheca, art. “Papa,” Vol. 6, p. 26-29). Moreover, the God daring claims rage on saying, “The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ himself, hidden under the veil of the flesh.” (Catholic National: July 1895). The Bible gives characteristics by which we can identify the Beast. It is the Papal System alone that perfectly fulfills all these traits. Many have never given this subject a second thought- they suppose the prophecies are useless. This is however, a great error. We must not walk in the steps of the Pharisees who failed to recognize their Savior because they had not read the Prophecies that foretold Jesus’ coming. We too, will have no excuse not to understand a matter that the loving God has set so plainly in the scriptures. Let the love of Jesus guide you into His entire truth. WHO IS THE BEAST? The love of God still pleads for humanity, that all men may not worship the beast or receive his mark. Some claim there is no salvation in finding out who the beast is. The Bible however, proves that those that worship the beast or receive his image will in no wise enter heaven. Faith comes by hearing the Word; and presumption is the very opposite of hearing the word. It is presumption to think Jesus would Himself meet John the Revelator on the Island of Patmos to reveal vision after vision of useless stuff. It is only at the peril of our lives that we would choose not to know these things. God laments that, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4: 6).
