WHOA! YOU WANT ME TO DO WHAT??? Read Hebrews Chapter 11 and at one point you’ll notice the phrase, “by faith” stated five times one right after the other. Moses “by faith” crossed over the Red Sea. Thus, the application/demonstration of this popular two-word declaration. And, I’ve got news for you old pal, new pal, or accidental drop-in, if you are a Christ-follower/disciple it won’t be long, or maybe you’re facing it now, that YOU will be called to move forward into an impossible situation, armed only with your faith and trust in God. Yee Haw!!! Face it, when we have to move into the unknown we pooch, get dry mouth, and filled with reservation (fear). Don’t worry though; we are in good company---Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, David, those 3 Hebrew Musketeers, how about that nutball Noah who spent a zillion years building a boat, Joseph---he threw incredible forgiveness in with his faith, Joshua who must have seemed like a madman marching around Jericho. There are many, many more of course, so suffice it to say there are plenty of examples of men and women who stepped out “by faith” into the unknown or into the impossible with the weapon of choice: TRUST. Ya know, and this is hard for me to admit publically, I spent 30 years putting all my intellect, experience, work ethic, experimenting, investigating and imagining a coaching system that would guarantee success. I failed to capture that golden egg. And isn’t that just like us? Life can be quite the challenge and full of the unknown. God leads us through these dark valley’s with just enough visibility for the next step ahead. However, we want to see a clear path all the way to the destination AND we want a guarantee of a hot shower and Ruth Chris’s steak upon arrival. Don’t let worry or fear shut you down or keep you from following God “by faith” one step at a time…but moving forward, forward, forward. Get off your “but”---But what about this? But what about that? But I want some guarantee’s. But what if I’m afraid? But what will people say? But I’m comfortable where I’m at. But I’m not good enough for such a big challenge. Do yourself a favor and read Isa. 30:21. Has God ever broken a promise? I rest my case your Honor. Now consider all the faith Hall of Famers and the incredible success and victory of each one. All because they were armed with only their trust in God. So, as God calls you to move forward in faith to do something defined in the natural realm as impossible, smile and sing praises as you cross over on dry ground. Glory to God. Glory to God. Glory to God.
