WHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! We had the first positive doctor visit today. Wyatt Kuether left the appointment and said thats the first time one of the doctors made a comment like I see the end in sight. He met with the Infectious Disease Doctor today who has now basically taken over the case since the surgeon really only needs to show up on the day hes cleared to have the hardware removed. Were still looking at mid or late December for the surgery, but the great news is that this doctor is going to make sure that the surgery is done at the NICE hospital and that he is admitted for at least 2-3 days following the surgery to make sure everything is fine. He also said once the hardware is out he can remove the PICC LINE!!!!!!! That is the biggest blessing. What was suppose to be in there until February can now come out with surgery and he can go on oral antibiotics. The trade off is the pills take longer than the IV meds, but well take 3 months of pills over 2 months of injections every 8 hours. This will be a very nice Christmas present :o)
