WHY AL GORE AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL FREAKS ARE NUTS: During the Medieval warm period, which lasted from about 800 to 1300 A.D., the Vikings raised livestock on Greenland and sailed to North America by following the southern boundaries of a much warmer artic circle. Vineyards grew in England, new cities were created in Northern Europe, and the continents population grew from about 30 million to over 80 million. Mankind had little to do with bringing on that big heat; no SUVs, no factories, no airplanes, and no eco-terrorists to explain it all. There simply weren’t enough people on Earth to cause all that warmth. Beginning around 1300, the Little Ice Age brought devastating consequences to western civilization. Summers were rainy, winters cold, and, in many places, temperatures were so low that grain crops never sprouted. Famines and epidemics raged, and the average life span of humans dropped by 10 years. In Germany, thousands of villages were abandoned and entire stretches of land depopulated. People huddled in crowded villages and unventilated homes trying to stay warm. The Black Plague invaded and killed nearly half the European population. There were plenty of fleas, rats, and marauding armies but no great factories belching out carbon dioxide and other so-called greenhouse gasses. A warming period began during the middle 1800’s, and Earth became dryer. In the 1900’s, new measuring equipment and space satellites began providing scientists the ability to track temperatures more accurately and measure and record changes occurring over short and long periods of time. When temperatures unexpectedly plunged for a short time in the 1960s, we were warned about a coming new ice age; supposedly triggered by man-made air pollution. Ignored was the volcanic period that brought on the Great Ice Age over twenty thousands years earlier. The giant mammoths died; some still holding grass in their mouths. Hardly anyone in the 1960s believed that Earth was still in a warming trend. It was not until the rise of the environmental movement in the 1980’s that everything suddenly changed. From then on it was almost a foregone conclusion that global warming would be a disaster for the Earths climate. Environmentalists, fresh out of socialist dominated schools, sporting diplomas in eco-terrorism, and having just witnessed the fall of their God, the USSR, began adopting a strategy typical of some religions. They infiltrated the environmental movement and began warning us about the horrors of the greenhouse effect, ozone holes, and CO2 admissions. They even ordained a new God, Al Gore. They dismissed the fact that Earth’s climate has been changing without human help. They even dismissed the fact that the eruption of Mt. St. Helens spewed out more carbon dioxide than all the factories and SUVs since the beginning of the Industrial Age. Our planet wobbles and revolves around our sun in a changing elliptical orbit. At present, the Earth’s orbit around the sun is almost a perfect circle. The earth’s apogee and perigee gradually changes over many years, contributing to earth’s changes in temperature over hundreds and thousands of years. That, coupled with changes in the sun’s surface temperature, earth’s precession on its tilted axis, eccentricity of its orbit, and angle of obliquity provide a very complex chain of events that directly and indirectly affects our climate. Yet, climate change paranoia has infested those who search weather forecasts for signs of impending doom. Is the earth warming? Is the earth cooling? The answer is yes to both questions. The long-term climatic changes on earth are cyclic. As we began coming out of the Little Ice Age, George Washington was freezing his butt off crossing the Delaware. The War of 1812 was fought in terrible weather conditions as the Little Ice Age began to dissipate and earth began to warm again. It wasn’t just the brilliance of our Generals that defeated the British in that war but a devastating hurricane that decimated British troops as they made their way back to Baltimore after burning our Capitol. The Little Ice Age began after about a 500 year warm period that spanned the middle ages. Before then, we had the Great Ice Age, and before then the Earth was a desert in some places and steaming jungles in other places. Before then, it was wrapped in an ice sheet. And, before then, the Earth was one great volcanic mess with shifting continents. If anyone thinks the weather is being changed by human activity, they should have been on Earth during its violent beginnings. They should be thankful that, today, things have somewhat stabilized enough to support human life; even stupid human life. Is mankind responsible for climatic changes? Not hardly. The primary contributor to our climate is the sun and its cycles of activity. In recent past we have been experiencing heightened solar activity during a period when Earth is in a nearly round orbit around the sun. However, the sun is presently in a quiet period, one not experienced in nearly a hundred years. Secondly, the sun affects our upper and lower atmosphere levels which, in turn, affect the oceanic currents, such as the Gulf Stream that carries warm upper currents around the world. Dismissed by the pseudo-scientists and their minions is the fact that Mars, like Earth, is presently experiencing a warming period. And, while they worry about the ozone hole getting bigger, they dismiss the fact that ozone is a pollutant. Yet, they buy “air purifiers” that emit ozone in their homes. They even scour all our oceans, rivers, and smallest streams looking for traces of mercury, yet tell us we must use mercury laden light bulbs in our homes. ET, phone home, pay your electric bill, and have them send down some wool blankets for the coming cool period. So, why are some people saying the Earth is getting hotter and it is all man’s fault? Perhaps they don’t remember when some “experts” back in the 1970’s were saying the earth was headed for another ice age. Is climate pseudo-science some kind of a religion? It seems so since it blindly adheres to the tenets of one of the greatest religions in the world, worldwide socialism, which, with the demise of the USSR, has found a new pulpit in the environmental movement where their idols are now the leadership of the Democrat Party. Their religion has now matured and become a political ideology. That is what all this environmental crap is about, power over the ignorant, distribution of wealth, and only a privileged few in control of that wealth. It has nothing to do with the weather. It is all about tearing down the enemy of worldwide socialism, the United States of America, and then establishing a world of socialist workers whose only function is to blindly serve their socialist elite under one banner of world government, the United Nations. After all, it is the socialist elite who are the only ones who have a valid need for the world’s oil supply. They need it to power their People’s Cars and keep the seats of their thrones cool in the summer and warm in winter. The rest of us have no real need for oil. Our job is to work the fields, thankfully receive what is doled out to us, and be obedient. Our benevolent leaders will take care of all our needs according to our abilities. Sure, clean up your stuff and don’t throw trash on the streets and highways, but don’t think you can change our climate. But, you can still change who will be in charge of your lives. I know, I know; some people have trouble with science, and even more people have trouble with history. That is what makes so many people such obedient little voters. “He who dares not offend cannot be honest.” – Thomas Paine. I am thinking of migrating to Poland where it may take a squad of Poles to change a light bulb but at least their President had enough sense to know they can’t change the weather. Hmmm, did the Russians kill him? There are three characteristics of Earths orbital motion that change slightly over long periods of time. One of these changes occurs over millions of years, one over about a hundred thousand years, and the other over about forty thousand years, with some minor changes occurring within a few hundred years. These cyclical changes cause differences in the amount of sunlight the Northern and Southern Hemispheres of Earth receive. Precession: Precession can be compared to the wobbling of a toy spinning top. The Earth wobbles on its axis. Presently, the polar axis is pointed toward the North Star (Polaris). This wobble, over thousands of years as the cycle of wobbling progresses, will cause the star, Aires, to become our north star. Eventually, the seasons will be more extreme in the Northern Hemisphere while the Southern Hemisphere seasons will be less extreme. Eccentricity: Earths orbit (path around the sun) is currently almost perfectly circular. As the eccentricity increases, the shape of the orbit becomes more oval (like an egg). Higher eccentricity increases the difference between temperatures when Earth is closest to and farthest from the sun. Obliquity: The tilt of Earths axis is currently 23.5° from perpendicular to the plane of its orbit. Over time, this angle changes between 22.1° and 24.5°. As the angle increases, differences between the seasons become more extreme (colder winters and warmer summers). As the tilt decreases, differences between the seasons are less extreme (warmer winters and cooler summers). In the second case, when summers are cooler, all the winters snow and ice may not melt, allowing huge sheets of ice to accumulate. Earth is now in this period. Al Gore is a buffoon.
