WHY DOES THE DAILY NEWS SUPPORT THE CARRIAGE TRADE? i am not posting this article because it is good piece of journalism because it is not. It is another desperate and silly piece from the Daily News, which I use as an example of their desperation. They have very low standards and it clearly reflects the views of those at the top. But I have given this some thought and if you have also, I would like to hear what you think. I am still mystified. The DN is owned by conservative billionaire Mort Zuckerman, friend of Mayor Bloomberg. The DN endorsed Christine Quinn in the primary, thinking she would win and guaranteeing Zuckerman continued access to City Hall. She lost, of course. They hate deBlasio. So far, they have not endorsed anyone in this election. Like the NY Post, they hate anyone who supports animal rights - making fun of celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Alec Baldwin, Lea Michelle to name a few. Zuckerman also owns US News & World Report; writes a column and is often seen on the Sunday TV talking head political shows. He is a man of huge ego and wants his views to be known and accepted. He wants control. What are they afraid of? What is Zuckerman afraid of? Surely he does not care about this two bit carriage trade and if he is as smart as he wants us to believe, he has to know and get why so many people want to shut it down . . If we were not effective, they would not write about these issues and mock us. So we clearly are doing something right. Zuckerman is rumored to be a vegan but it is for health reasons and like many other CEOs - it is used as a status symbol. Any thoughts?
