WHY GOD WANTS US TO PROSPER When in Joshua 1:8 the bible says this;’ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success, God has reasons for wanting us to constantly meditate on the book of the law – the bible. 1. God wants us to prosper and have good success as shown in Joshua 1:8 so that all the glory of our wealth may be attributed to Him (Deuteronomy 8:18). 2. God wants all believers to be generous; 2 Corinthians 9:11; ‘You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God (NIV). We all know how generous people treat others; an example being found in the story of the Good Samaritan. 3. The poor will always be in our midst; ‘For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land (Deuteronomy 15:11). It is important that you and I are prosperous so that we may obey this command. 4. God has already blessed us so all that we need to do is to invoke the Spiritual into physical; ‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (Ephesians 1:3). Having been blessed in the Spirit, we need to call those blessings into physical (Romans 4:17(b))Study 2 Corinthians 8:9. 5. God wants us leave inheritance for our children and grand children as the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just (you and me) Proverbs 13:22 Because God can use you to His glory, that is why He is saying; ‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11(NIV)). He wants you and me to use our resources to promote the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20). Listen to this; ‘Ecclesiastes 10:19; A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything.’ The key here is that money answers everything so if we’re to go fishing (fishers of men) we need money/prosperity. It is when we are equipped financially and materially that we can respond positively when we hear this from the Lord; ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? That is when we can say; ‘Here am I; send me.’(Isaiah 6:8). PRAYER POINT: Lord I thank you for opening my spiritual understanding to know that I have been blessed. As from this moment, I renounce every negative thing that I have ever said or done that may have been blocking my ability to call into being all my blessings. Even when people say to me ‘God bless you’ teach me to remind them that I have been blessed. Now; I am ready, send me in Jesus name.
