WHY I DISAGREE WITH THIS ARTICLE. Normally I just dont care, but once a high number of my friends are sharing the same article, Ill jump in. Yes my generation is entitled, and yes we could probably stand to work harder. But I see people in my generation who are younger and older than me doing great things every day. I guess my biggest issue with this article is that they never challenge the fact that you CAN HAVE HAPPINESS WITHOUT MEETING THE EXPECTATIONS IN YOUR LIFE. Life never comes out the way it is planned, but with a different definition of success that is based on 1) following Gods calling and 2) helping/caring about the people around you, YOU CAN (and should) START DOING GEAT AND LIFE CHANGING THINGS TODAY. And I bet those things will lead to some happiness. (Calling isnt life in ministry. God calls people to be firemen, bankers, stay at home moms, and to work in an office.) Yes its hard. Yes it takes work. Yes its painful. Yes theres failure. But theres also opportunities to do great things every day... Not just after you have put your time in on the bottom of the barrel. Its not that you or I deserve to be happy and fulfilled, its that were created to be those things and many more... But they will probably look a lot different than you might expect. So Id rather take some time and ask God what a successful day today looks like and then Ill find happiness in being that ordinary-but greatly following God-person.
