WHY LIONEL MESSI ISNT THE GREATEST AS SOME CLAIM AND IS OVERRATED!!! Ive sat down,thought,wondered and it baffles me that someone in his right senses (sorry to use that word) will call messi the greatest footballer alive..Ive been a football fanatic for nearly 2 decades and Ive been blessed to have watched great players like maradona,baggio,romario,dunga,zidane,henry,carlos,ronaldo de lima,ronaldinho and co,,so I think Im in the best place to talk about whos better... Football has revolutionized and we cant boast of great defenders like the maldinis,canavaro and co who were rocks at the back...The players I mentioned earlier played against these rocks and proved themselves..Could you compare the likes of pique,vermelen,pepe,koscielny,marcelo,koke,arbeloa and so on with the likes of there maldinis??? Thats impossible..we only have few world class defenders playing now like terry,ferdinand,puyol,ashley cole who could be even compared to the canavaros and co... Thats to explain how football has changed over the years..Those days if you can prove yourself in italian league which was just something else then you consider urself a great player because refs allow tackles fly in without any question unlike now that every dive is awarded as a foul which baffles me.. Messi is a good player but is he the greatest??? Thats a typical NO...why?? This is a man that flopped at 2006 world cup as a teeneger,flopped again at 2010 world cup and can boast of only one goal in 2 world cups,,this same messi flopped in copa america which was hosted by his country argentina,he couldnt carry his team pass the knock out..The world cup is the pinnacle of football and any player who cant perform at that level is not a worthy world player..ronaldo de lima is the highest goal scorer in world cup history with 15 goals which cant be rivaled for years with 2 world cups,copa america and many trophies to show,,this is the true definition of someone who should be considered among the greatest likewise zidane,ronaldinho,maradona,pele,romario and co...Messi cant be compared with these guys because the world cup gives them the edge.. At barca,he has won it all in club football but has failed to replicate that blistering form for his national team..why??? I dont know... Have we ever wondered to ask ourselves that spain has no Messi yet have won it all??? Spain has dominated football for years now yet people say messi is barca??? Thats laughable..The simple truth is that spain have xavi,iniesta,puyol,busquet,villa, (torres) who are the core of this barca team,the truth why messi has failed miserable in NT is that he has no xavi and iniesta who lay those tantalizing passes to him at a plata of gold..I tell you,even a cripple will score goals with xavi and iniesta behind him... People call messi a humble boy but I dont think so...He had a child out of wedlock,,he had problem with etoo at barca when as a teenager was dragging who should take the penalty with etoo,,he had problem with villa,,he master minded the departure of ibrahimovic from barca,,he insulted arbeloa and his pregnant girlfriend in the car park after the 1-1 clasico match at santiago,,he doesnt pay his taxes... Is this a sign of someone whos humble?? Lets face it,,lets forget the camouflage of the painted holy son messi by the press and fifa and tell ourselves the truth... I dont want to drag further but the truth be told,,Until messi shoulders his NT to world cup glory or even copa america glory,,until he leaves barca to another league and proves himself just like great players like zidane,de lima,ronaldinho,maradona and co,,until he scores 1283 goals scored by pele, until he does those things even if he wins 10 ballon dors,we who are real football fans wont consider him the GREATEST....Thats why messi is purely been overrated,,mind you,,we might be seeing the end of this guy with injuries taking its toil on him..South americans are always known for diminishing when getting to 27-28 years so I doubt if messi can attain his former height in football again...I wish him speedy recovery but something inside me is telling me that Messi is on a decline and a new era has begun which is the era of Cristiano aviero dos santos RONALDO which will later be taken by Hazard,oscar,neymar or any other emerging young player which only God knows...Im not a messi hater but truth be told,MESSI is a good footballer but he has been massively OVERRATED... #SHALOM
