WHY MEN WINK IN THE DARK Sometimes back, we held a meeting for Men of this online church and the theme of the meeting was: Winking in the Dark. A few of the men here attended, just like it happens to many Mens meetings. We are not gifted in producing large numbers for meetings. “Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know what you are doing but nobody else does.” Steuart Henderson Britt. Last week, we did mention the YOU (James, Steve, etc) Brand and the need to make your brand stand out. I am not suggesting that you advertise yourself, I am only saying that a brand which is invisible is as good as dead. And if you followed our discussion last week, the great Women of God we talked about were bold enough to stand out and be unique. I will list here why men continue to wink in the dark, even when they have a deep seated desire to get married. Here are some of the reasons why godly men fear pursuing sisters when so many ungodly men out there do not give these sisters breathing space. We have heard here every now and then that brothers do not want to buy coffee, they do not ask us out, they are just there.... Here are some of the reasons: 1. Fear of rejection 2. Fear of humiliation 3. Lack of a clear signal from a woman that she is approachable 4. Past disappointments and wounds 5. Fear of divorce/break up 6. Lack of godly mentors 7. They feel that women are too demanding and are after material wealth 8. He feels he is not ready..whatever that means! 9. There are too many women around, not sure which one to target 10. The beautiful ones are not yet born 11. Waiting for the perfect one..every man hopes to meet a better woman tomorrow 12. Laziness..we have many lazy men waiting for things to happen without making any effort 13. Fear of educated and outspoken women 14. Some men generally have low regard for single mothers, unfortunately 15. Chasing after the wind..men are busy making wealth at the expense of establishing a family These are some of the reasons that are holding your husbands back ladies. Now you know.
