WHY THE PRESS REFUSES TO LINK DEMONSTRATIONS AND CAUSES —————————————————————————————————— Demonstrations are rarely limited to what triggers them. As long as a vulture class on Wall Street steals wages, pays shit wages, destroys pensions, swindles investors, engages in insider trading, and generally behaves like crooks in $14,000 suits American society can expect unrest and even violence, and the issues that trigger the unrest may not be the real underlying causes. The kettle’s whistle is not the issue, the hot water and steam are. The Walmart strikes, the fast-food strikes, and the Eric Garner protests are all related, all linked, even if the press steadfastly refuses to connect the dots. The reason the press refuses to connect the dots is that once they are connected a picture of a predatory class swindling the rest of the country emerges, and then it’s anybody’s guess what will happen. The people intuitively know the cops are being militarized for a reason, and that reason is the suppression of dissent.
