WICT (Women in Cable Telecommunications) is recruiting outstanding women in the College of Communication and Information for their special Mentoring Program. Professional female leaders in all aspects of cable telecommunication offer their time and experience to help college women develop the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in the cable field. Scripps Networks, Jewelry Television, Comcast Cable, and others are members of the Knoxville Chapter. They are partnering with the University of Tennessee to offer this special program. Selected students meet with their mentors 2-4 times per year and are also invited to special events at Scripps Networks including a Resume Boot Camp, Interviewing Workshop, Networking events, and special presentations by Scripps executives. If you interested in pursuing an internship or career with Scripps Networks, Comcast Cable, Jewelry TV, or other cable companies this opportunity is a great way to start making connections with important people who can help you get your foot in the door. ALL interested students should plan to drop by the Scripps Convergence Lab Studio/Theaterfrom 4:00-5:30on Monday, August 26th. Refreshments will be provided.! WICT members from Scripps Networks will be on hand to provide you with more information and provide you with application forms. only 15 UT students will be selected.
