WING FORWARD This is a tough position because Louisvilles wings average better numbers, but they should because they play significantly more minutes. Plus, the Cats only have Trey Lyles on the wing now that Alex Poythress is out for the season. You could include Derek Willis but unless the Cats desperately need outside shooting its unlikely hell log serious minutes. (Dont look for him) Louisville really only has Wayne Blackshear but could see some time from guys like Jaylen Johnson or Shaqquan Aaron. We will focus on Lyles or Blackshear? If this game were in March, Lyles would be the choice if he continues to grow. (Trust me, he will continue to improve) As of today, Blackshear may be the more consistent player but you pretty much know what youre going to get out of him. Lyles has a chance to have a huge game if hes clicking. This is why a push seems like the most logical answer in this matchup, and again its unclear if these two will even guard one another. Blackshear has been a more consistent for Pitino this season but still leaves so much to be desired. His 12 points, six rebounds and two assists per game is solid, but he still has the occasional stinker of a game. Blackshear has hit more than two threes in a game just once this season and seemingly cant help the Cards with their biggest offensive weakness. If he were able to improve on his outside shooting it would go a long way for Louisville, not just for Saturday but for the season. Lyles outside shot has not been so good as of late, but the we dont need him to hit from the perimeter. Hes able to knock down 15 footers and be a pest on the glass and thats been a huge plus for the Big Blue. Louisville has to win these push matchups on Saturday if the Cards are going to have a chance. EDGE: PUSH
