WINNERS! Reservoir Dad had a rough time choosing his favourite - TopicsExpress

WINNERS! Reservoir Dad had a rough time choosing his favourite stories of breastfeeding support for our giveaway of three copies of his new book. The winners are below! Thanks to everyone who entered. To get your copy of Reservoir Dad, head to Mothers Direct , and remember that ABA members get a 10% discount! When we asked Clint to choose his favourites, this is what he had to say. These were all such great stories and trying to pick three winners was like trying to choose my favorite biscuit from a packet of Tim Tams. So sorry to everyone who missed out but a big thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading everyones stories Rhiannon Creamer : My husband and father in law supported me all the way! My father in law even chased after me as I was going out saying you forgot your nipple shields, honey!!! Perhaps he was worried his only (and most precious) granddaughter wouldnt get fed whilst I was out RD says: Just love the nonchalance of Pa. Sylvia Siu said : We came home from hospital and found a note under the door. It said, my name is Wendy and Im a lactation consultant. Joan told me youve just moved into the area and dont know anyone. If you need any help with feeding, dont hesitate to call. We did, straight away, because my daughter wasnt latching and I had no idea what I was doing! She came, everyday, and stayed several hours, patiently teaching us (my husband sat through every single minute, taking notes, following instructions, getting me water and hot towels and cabbage leaves) until the milk flowed and my baby latched. What a precious woman! No charge, wouldnt accept any gifts of appreciation, just wanted to help my family and I on our breast feeding journey! RD says: An amazing story of selflessness and community support. Sarah Bryony said : Although I was lucky enough to be surrounded by generations of supportive BFs, I found invaluable support online! Apps like Baby Center AU that have an online forum dedicated to BF really got me through those first few weeks. Simply hearing from another Mum that it does get better inspires you to continue and appreciate that special bond. Similarly, reading another fellow first-time-Mums struggle with BF reminds you youre not alone, even at that 3am feed, there was always someone feeling the same way, probably nodding over that same post on cluster feeding! The added bonus was that with over 1,000 members there was sure to be someone online to answer your question(s)/just validate your concerns at that time when you need it the most and everyone else is sleeping! Never underestimate the power of supportive words from complete strangers! RD says: Great example of seeking support and finding it in less obvious places. Congratulations to our winners! Please email [email protected] with your mailing address and we will organise to have your copy of Reservoir Dad on its way to you! Thanks to Reservoir Dad and the kind folks at Random House Books AU who made this giveaway possible.
