WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2 Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph... March 31, 2014 LIVING THE BLESSED LIFE MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.[s] Christianity is not designed for anyone to function on their own. The word father in the Hebrew is the word Abba which means source. The blessed man understands his source. He is a tree planted by the rivers of water- the location of his planting is important, the connection is important & the source is important! The blessed man is not wired to be self sufficient. The Christian is referred to with the metaphor of the sheep. Sheep are stupid & foolish. Every animal has a defence mechanism save the sheep. Yet the bible says Jesus went to the cross like a sheep to the slaughter. There is nothing in a sheep that is threatening or fear inducing. Why then are we referred to as sheep? It is because the strength of the sheep is in its shepherd. Never again weigh anything that comes to you by your pocket or strength. Look at the bigness of your God & the enormity of the challenge is immediately reduced! The blessed man prospers in EVERY aspect of his life because he observes a certain lifestyle & maintains a connection with the Holy Spirit. One attribute of the blessed man is his consistence. He is not like a tree that is constantly transplanted but is always found in the same spot- by Gods side. He is planted, rooted & consistent. He stands in & out of season. He serves God when he has money and when he doesnt, when His efforts are not recognized or appreciated by men. He is a stable person who has no unstable emotion! (James 1:8). CONFESSION: My life is committed to the things of God. I am always protected because my supernatural covering is never compromised. PRAYER: Help me be a consistent Christian in all of my dealings.
