WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL MATURE CHRISTIAN 2Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph… July 7, 2013 THE MATURE CHRISTIAN MEMORY VERSE: Joshua 3:4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” Regardless of how high you are on the ladder of success, there will always be a higher realm, a further distance to cover, a greater goal to achieve. There’s a new horizon ahead of you and its time to go for it. This horizon can however only be achieved by people who are willing to grow to meet the attendant responsibilities. God has many things to give to His children but His children limit Him by their refusal to grow. Gal 4:1 Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, When you refuse to grow, even slaves will cheat you! There are attributes by which to tell babes from men. Babes are always drawn in by what they can get; it is always about them. Psalm 103:7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. The children of Israel understood the acts of God; the things He did, the gifts He gave, the Manna He supplied, the red sea He parted, etc. however, it was Moses alone who understood the way of God (the principles of God). God does not want us to limit our lives and destinies to the things we can. Babes in the kingdom do not want to live obedient lifestyles as God has instructed so they attempt to give ‘bribes’ to their pastors in form of prophet offerings in order to have a quick fix for their problems. They are then quick to return to their previous ways. God’s intention is that we live obedient lifestyles. We must come to a place of maturity where we are drawn in not by what we want but by the principles we imbibe. Mature Christians do not do things because they work but because they are right. Right things do not always work from the onset but with time, they bring results. On the other spectrum, things which work but are not right soon fold up with time. PRAYER: Today, I move from being a babe to being a mature and responsible Christian in Jesus’ name. CONFESSION: I have the wisdom of God therefore I subdue new territories. I declare that I am a responsible and principled Christian!
