WINTER T20 TEAM PREVIEW - DESI BOYZ: The Desi Boyz led by captain Ashlesh Waghmare have returned to the Winter Challenge with a point to prove. This highly talented team finished up in 15th place in the 2013 Summer tournament and their first objective would be to get into the final 8. The Desi Boyz will be meeting Ashton CC in their first match. Strengths: Desi Boyz has a nice mix of explosive batsmen and accurate bowlers. Their highest score in Infinity T20 matches was 7/197. The Desi Boyz are a passionate team and will be having an eye on the trophy. Expect this team to not take any of their opponents lightly. Weaknesses: It is Desi Boyz’ bowling that will need to step up and contain teams. It is the bowling in T20 matches that will win teams games – and the Desi Boyz do have the bowlers that can make a difference. In the Summer T20, they bowled the Melb Super Kings (now Super Roos) out for 112. Interesting fact: Ashlesh is a very passionate Gunners supporter in the English Premier league. One of the most successful clubs in English football, it has won 13 First Division and Premier League titles and 10 FA Cups Player highlights: In 2012 Hamid was an outstanding performer for the Desi Boyz with multiple knocks over 30 which was the backbone of the team and will play a big part in the teams’ quest for Winter 2013. Other names to watch out for in this tournament include the skipper, Hussain Attar and Manpreet Jolly. Ashlesh, any chance of “Desi Girl”, Priyanka Chopra making an appareance in your cheer squad?
