WINTERS MOST HOPEFUL PLANT: PAPERWHITES One of the glories of Winter in our region is growing paperwhites, a harbinger of Spring even now in chilly December. This fragrant, easy-to-grow species of daffodil (Narcissus sp.) happily grows indoors in any bright spot. They dont even necessarily require soil -- you can plant them in pebbles or small stones and they do fine. Just give them a bit of sun and some occasional water, and theyll do fine. Mostardis has both pre-planted and individual bulbs to choose from, either for yourself or as gifts. For many of us, its hard to get through these cold months without a pot of paperwhites to give us hope and cheer.
