WISHING CHRISTMAS Gather now we old and gray, Lingering - TopicsExpress

WISHING CHRISTMAS Gather now we old and gray, Lingering thoughts upon this day. Not quite yet but almost still, Come recollections soon to fill. With joys and song and merry gone. Once more we end with sad song. What has come of this time? Embittered with bleak crime! Restless, grieving sorrows cry out; Must we to the masses continue to shout? Enough of these times of black; Cry out for peace be steadfast back! Are there no ears to listen, No eyes to see, no heart to glisten: With truth and honour and promise, Bind these sorrows the price of bliss. Shadowed in what may seem, Bound as if a childhood dream. Yet come what may dispel truth. Be told unlike another proof. Of human stories long shared before; Bleakly shutting out all the more. Tethered empty hearts have chose, Living without life’s compass rose Grace angels of our better nature. Creator of our soulful stature. Forgive what we know better of, And give us chance to rise above. These tragic times of great remiss. Honour one last Christmas Wish. JR Twaddell © 12-23-14
