WITH ALL YOUR HEART Call out for insight, and cry aloud for understanding. Seek it like silver; search for it like hidden treasure. Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and discover the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:3-4 NLT) Seeking the Lord and His wisdom was never meant to be a casual thing. He tells us here to “call out” for insight and “cry aloud” for understanding… to seek Him as if we were seeking for silver or hidden treasure. Only then will we understand the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. When I go to the beach I love to hunt for seashells. I could search for hours without even realizing it because I become so focused on the task! We need to search out the scriptures in this same manner – with passion and anticipation of finding true and lasting treasure! And of course when we are searching for something in particular we must search in the right area! You won’t find sea shells on a mountain top! The Lord promised us in Jeremiah 29:13-14 (NIV), “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD…” Are you searching for the Lord with all your heart and in the right place? If you are not satisfied with your walk with the Lord – if you want a more robust, rich, and fulfilling, relationship with Christ then it will need to put your whole heart into it!
