They are the eyes of the Lord, which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.” - Zechariah 4:10 Dr. Mensa Otabil has often told the story of how ICGC started, severally intimating how the harsh realities of small beginnings pushed them into having service in a garage. Interestingly enough, organisations that have made groundbreaking transformational impact globally have also started in garages. Jobs and Wozniack started Apple in a garage, Gates and Allen started Microsoft in a garage, Walt Disneys first studio was a tiny one car garage; I could go on and on. Google, HP, Amazon, Mattel were all started in garages. Every great thing starts small and characteristic of every small thing is a lot of resistance, challenges, roadblocks, hard work and little help. Most certainly, at the time when these people were confined to garages, no one thought that what they were doing could impact the world and generations to come because of how they and what they were doing looked like. That is what the Scripture calls the day of small things. Anything you seek to do, your very life has a day of small things. However, if there is a day of small things, then there also is a day of big things. Times change. Today, ICGC is one of the churches of God that has brought, salvation, transformation, influence, leadership and direction to millions across the globe and will continue to do so for generations to come. Apple, Microsoft and others have changed the course of how businesses are run, given a new phase to education and even change the outlook of governance; but they started in garages, they had small beginnings. You may also be in your garage today but within the garage is something great. Today may be your first day in a six-year medical programme with no guaranteed funding but the day you become a medical doctor is still within your reach. All you have to start the business or project God has laid on your heart may be just your idea, a thin CV and no money; it is a day of small things with the potential of a day of big things. You see a great ministry to win souls and transform lives but all you have now is an anointing, passion, a tattered Bible you havent even finished reading while no one knows you. If you have these, dont worry, you are within your garage, the day of small things which means there will be a day of great things. Only walk with God, trust Him, work hard, surmount the opposition and dont give up, the day when you break out of the garage into homes across the world will come. PRAYER: Though my beginning is small, my end shall greatly increase.
