WOMAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED ASSAULT AT CRONULLA A woman has been charged after a man and a baby were allegedly assaulted at Cronulla overnight. A man took an eight-month-old girl to Cronulla Police Station about 10.30pm yesterday (Sunday 7 July 2013). Officers noticed a swelling over the child’s right eye and called an ambulance to take her to Sutherland Hospital. Police have been told she was in a stable condition but would be kept overnight. Officers were told the infant’s parents were involved in an altercation outside a restaurant on the Kingsway at Cronulla earlier in the evening. It was a concerned member of the public who took the baby to the police station. A 42-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Miranda Police Station. She has been charged with one count of common assault and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The first charge relates to the alleged assault of the child, the second to the alleged assault of a 39-year-old man. The woman was granted conditional bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday (10 July 2013).
