WOMEN AND CHURCH HATS: I Cor. 11:15, Paul speaks of a woman - TopicsExpress

WOMEN AND CHURCH HATS: I Cor. 11:15, Paul speaks of a woman praying with her head covered. Traditionalists, interpret this literally. Therefore, some, 50 plus, church women, seldom, if ever, cut their hair hair. Not even, damaged ends. Others, apply a laced cloth, or adorn a hat. This tradition started in slavery times. American blacks are descendants of slaves, and Sunday, was the day of individualism. It was expressed in women wearing hats of distinction, with ribbons, bows, flowers, colors, etc... In post-slavery, many, were labourers, etc...and Sunday was the day to dress up. COGIC, Baptists, Pentecostals of different streams, still wear hats quite often. In fact, women complimented rach others hats by saying: Are you trying to catch Gods Eye today? Times have changed somewhat. Young ladies today, unless they are European, or African royalty, traditionalists, or super classic, seldom, if ever, wear the CROWN! My Perspective: To each their own. Hats are a crown. Queens and Princesses, wear them. Sure beats some of these, what da what hair styles or lack of hair styles. Ha. NOTE: However, the, covering, (of you ascribe to the belief), is worn as a symbol of submission to Christ authority, not, as a fashion statement, per se. We are free in Christ. Whether, you cover your head or adorn it, like a peacock. Just, make sure, its not wider than your shoulders or higher than someones ability to see. These pics are tasteful, a few extravagant, but, they, are sharp, classy and any gentleman, would feel SUPER SPECIAL , to walk in the room, with either of them, if they were HIS LADY, looking REGAL!
