WOMEN’S FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK TO BE HELD IN ROCK HILL SC By: IWFL Austin, Texas – The Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) is proud to announce it has partnered with the Women’s Football Foundation to host the 2014 Championship and bowl games as part of a new and much larger event designed to expand the horizons of the sport. This year Championship Week will be held in Rock Hill, South Carolina and will take place over four days, July 23 - 26, 2014. In partnership with the Rock Hill/York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Rock Hill District 3 Stadium will play host to four major IWFL games as well as several exciting training and educational activities for girls interested in learning more about football and women that would like to improve their skills. WFF events include a coach’s clinic, helmet free tackle clinic, and a girl’s U17 tackle football showcase game. The week will also feature the first annual Women’s Football Foundation Banquet to honor our past, present and future stars. “We are very excited to work with the Women’s Football Foundation as the host of our annual championship and bowl games. Their choice to bring the events to Rock Hill gives us the opportunity to introduce the sport to a new community as well as be a part of something with a larger impact than a league championship game would normally allow,” said Kezia Disney, IWFL Chief Operating Officer. Championship Week events will feature the best female football players in North America. From the youth players of Canada’s MGFA to the IWFL All Stars and Champions this event will give fans a rare opportunity to see women’s football at it’s finest.
