WORD ALIVE … Bringing the relevance of God’s Word to our everyday life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JABEZ – THE HONOURABLE (Vol 2; No 192) Life does not give you what you deserve, but what you desire. It is what you desire that you pursue. One does not attract to himself that which he wants, but that which he desires. Those godly things you desire, pursue them tirelessly, make them a prayer point persistently and I assure you that sooner than later you’ll have them. Jabez was a man who desired to be blessed by God (1Chronicle 4:9&10). Though his name was associated with pain, he discovered what God said concerning him, believed it with all his heart, desired it, made it a prayer point and God granted his request. Jabez was able to live an honourable life because he rejected ancestral, circumstantial and people’s opinion about his person. He did not let his beginnings dictate his end. He refused to allow his family assertions about him to keep him down, and neither did he allow his borders to hedge him in. He found out God’s mind concerning him, desired it and went for it and God intervened and turned his pains into gains. God gave him a divine heritage and delivered him from his rankle lineage bondage which had held him hostage; transformed his fortune, restored his aspirations and upheld his destiny. God blessed him and gave him territorial and coastal expansion. It is time to break out of any ancestral bondage that has held you hostage and become a boundary-crosser. It is time to move beyond your limitations. Instead of settling for less in your life, start to desire to break forth unto coastal and territorial enlargement and advancement in all areas of your life’s endeavour. Mike Murdock said, “You have no right to anything you have not pursued. For the proof of desire is in the pursuit.” So you have no right to anything you’ve not desired for it is what you desired that you pursue. Nothing stops the man who desires to achieve, accomplish or acquire something. Every obstacle being encountered by the person is simply an opportunity to develop his achievement muscles. Such obstacles help to strength his powers of accomplishment. Do you know what happens when you have a continuous desire for something? The whole system of your body begins to work in agreement to the actualization of that thing. The heart is a symbol of creative activity. When you fire your heart with what you desire, your entire personality will follow where your heart leads. As your whole being begins to work in accordance to the leading of your heart, you will eventually attain your heart’s desire. Just like Jabez, you can live an honourable life to the glory of God. What are those things you desire to have or desire to be? As you delight yourself in the word of God, begin to desire them, and they will definitely come your way sooner than you can imagine.
