WORDS AND WARS: Spoken words in an unknown tongue in certain manners and tone may raise a war. In my primary and secondary school days, the Cantonese speaking Chinese students spoke in a manner that always sounded like they were quarrelling. It was like the way they played the drums and the cymbals for the Lion dance...dong dong chang, dong dong chang. The Tamil speaking Indian students spoke like singing with lots of slurs and varied notes, just like the bending notes of the Veena. The Malays were the nicest. It was always a polite singing tone and manners ending the sentence just like the sound of a Gong. Spoken French is always known as a romantic language and I think it is true. I can also say Hindi is a poetic sounding spoken language. I also like the humorous way the Blacks in the US speak. It disarms one from pretense and makes you want to give a high five to anyone in the street. Arabic seem to sound aggro too I think, just like spoken German. Does the way a language spoken indicate something of the psyche of a race? One of peace, one of Kungfu and one of war?
