WORLD CUP 2014 BRAZIL This morning l woke up early to watch the finals between Germany and Argentina. It was a touch and go situation with both sides battling it out the full 90 minutes with neither side conceding a goal. The game went into extra time and at the 113th minute a well taken corner kick saw the ball chested down by German supersub Goetze who then volleyed the ball past the Argenina goal keeper. It was a brilliant goal and Germany won by a goal and became world champions. Football has always attracted many to watch.Watching the game together is fun and bonds communities. So in1998 Ayer Rajah staged the first World Cup at the Community Centre. It was a great success with people of all races cheering and shouting for their favourite team.We even gave away prizes at the end of the game.Today l am happy that such games are screened at Community Centres. This is a good way of bonding the communities. Lets hope the government can allow more free to air soccer games in 2018 World Cup. For those who missed the finals l share with you some pictures l took of the beautiful stadium and players. It was taken from the TV.Also a picture of the 1998 World Cup Screening in Ayer Rahah.
