WORLD WORK: 500 of us gathered yesterday from 38 different countries to discuss global economics, disparities, privilege, and poverty. We were organizational leaders and Wall street representatives as well as those without voice speaking for indigenous cultures from the Amazon. Most poignant was the searing cry of one Nigerian elder whose voice rang out, Help me. Nobody hears my voice. I need help. Few eyes could stay dry as he made the rains flow for many of us. The pure vulnerability and spiritual currency he demonstrated left me silent and reflective inside for much of the day. I still have no words for how his cry becomes part of my being and life. I do know I am connected to one more person on the planet that I would have not met were I not here in Warsaw.
