WORSHIP SONG for MONDAY - Ive owed a lot of debts in my life - debts to banks, stores, contractors, car dealers and like most of you, a wide assortment of other things. Debt, to a certain degree, is a part of life and paying off debt is part of being a responsible person. But if I added ALL the debt I owe or have ever owed it would pale in comparison to the debt I owe to Jesus Christ. I owe Him a debt that I can never pay off and I owe Him a lifetime of gratitude that I can never fully express. He gave me something far more valuable than anything I have ever purchased and He gave it to me willingly and freely. I cant pay Him back but I will offer up my life in gratitude for what He has done. He purchased salvation for me through the shedding of His precious blood on the cross. He extended grace and mercy in spite of the fact that I deserve neither. And He has provided for me far more than that which I deserve. To think about paying Him back for all that He has done is ridiculous but I will do what the Apostle Paul encouraged in the New Testament Book of Romans - I beg you my friends, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable act of worship. Ive tried to do that for almost 4 decades and I plan, by Gods grace, on living that out the rest of my life. I can never pay Jesus back but I can offer up my life in gratitude for what He has done. Thank You Lord, for your indescribable gift!
